Enjoy Dutch beer and food with a beer sommelier

Our guide David was fantastic. His knowledge of the food and local history was excellent. The choice of restaurants in the Jordaan was a good selection. We started the tour with apple pie in Cafe Papenelland. Then had grilled sausage sandwiches at a local sandwich shop. Next had fish, pickled herring and fried codfish. After that bitter ballen and Jenever and then chicken satay. Finished off with cheese and quince.Total there were six stops for food and drinks. We certainly didnt need to eat dinner that evening. The history and walking tour was fun and learned a lot about the Dutch culture. Especially appreciated a peek into a private garden area.

An absolute highlight—Joanna takes the cake (or pie)! We have done a few food tours in different cities, but this tour with Joanna was by far the best. It offered the perfect balance of amazing local foods mixed with a walking tour of the Jordaan district. We learned so much about the rich history of the area while getting a true, authentic look at life in the city from a local’s perspective. She also provided tips for further tasting adventures. Highly recommend!

We had a great time with Thijs! He was super fun to talk to and knows so much! He’s open to any questions about architecture, food, Amsterdam history, and Amsterdam culture! My husband and I had loved the food and it was amazing food too!

Our multigen group of 9 had a fantastic afternoon with Thijs! We walked the streets and visiting some cool eating spots. We feel we got a great sense of the local favorites and general vibe. Thanks for the great tour- would do it again 100%!

Die Foodtour hat uns großen Spaß gemacht und das Essen war sehr lecker. Man kommt an Ecken in der Stadt, die wir ohne die Tour sicher nicht entdeckt hätten. My husband and I joined Amsterdam Food Tours and although there were only 4 out of 8 people attended, the tour went ahead. Thijs was our guide and we found him to be very warm and informative. Thijs answered all our questions about Amsterdam even how to use the metro! The food and drink tastings were very delicious and extremely generous portions. We have no hesitation in recommending Amsterdam Food Tours!

Top notch!! I would highly recommend! Katya was our guide and I was very impressed with her knowledge of Amsterdam. She took us to a lot of unique food stops, so many in fact that I was stuffed! She is very personable and gave us some really useful tips on sights to visit during the remainder of our stay. Thank you again Katya, it was an incredible tour!!!

Highly recommend this tour. Thijs is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We did this tour on the first day of our trip, and got recommendations on other restaurants and activities to try while in town. All turned out to be great experiences. The tour itself had a wealth of historical knowledge and great food while avoiding tourist traps. We were able to take a brief detour and try a couple extra stops. Can’t recommend these guys enough!

Joanna was amazing!! She taught us so much about Amsterdam’s food, culture, and history. She was incredibly knowledgeable and delightful to chat with. Money well spent!
