Amsterdam Walking Tour - Private Tour
A SHORT AND RELAXED INTRODUCTION TO AMSTERDAM
Explore the old city center of Amsterdam with a local expert
This walking tour is a great way to familiarise yourself with the city and get a first glimpse of Amsterdam after a long journey. Do you have to wait before you can check in at your hotel, or would you simply like to stretch your legs while exploring the city? Then the Amsterdam Walking Tour is a great choice. It also combines well with our Amsterdam food tours, as these experiences cover different areas of the city.
On this private waking tour, you will be guided to some of the most intriguing sights in the old centre. Along the way, your guide shares stories about the origins of Amsterdam, the city’s historical importance as a trading centre, and daily life here since the Middle Ages. You will also discover how freedom of religion developed, see hidden churches from the outside, and explore Amsterdam’s more liberal side.
This tour includes complimentary pick-up and drop-off at nearly any location within the Jordaan, Canal Belt area, or the old city centre. When booking, you can list your preferred starting point. Outside these areas, we are still happy to pick you up or drop you off, but additional charges may apply.

We had a wonderful afternoon on Joanna’s food tour. It was informative, fun and delicious. We highly recommend this
Excellent tour and tour guide. Rudolf was knowledgeable, friendly and a great sense of humour! We sampled a wide range of delicious food, in varied neighbourhoods. Rudolf took us all over Amsterdam and provided the historical context in terms of both social and water engineering issues. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour!!
Our experience with the Amsterdam walking food tour was fantastic! We felt like a local while visiting all the markets, wine shops and food establishments that Thijs, our guide, personally enjoys! Our meeting place at the historical and charming Le Papeneiland set the tone for the day. We enjoyed their signature Apple Pie while getting to know Thijs. We highly recommend this tour and look forward to our next tour when in Amsterdam Thanks again! Tammy and Jon San Diego , CA
One of the best guided tours we have experienced. Relaxed and casual but with an outstanding explanation of the history, food and culture of Amsterdam. Fantastic.
We had a great time on our 4 hour tour. Plenty of food and great history lessons. Our tour guide Rudolph was very personable and kept us entertained the whole time. I would recommend to anyone that wants a full tour of food in the city!
Amazing food, great views, and very fun guide. Our guide rob was very accommodating and made our experience the best it could be.
Such a great time. Sampling all the essential Dutch food groups. The sightseeing was wonderful as well. Best of all was our guide Rudolph. Engaging, funny, and filled with the fun of Amsterdam.
