We had a great tour with Jan. Hw was really knowledgeable and helpful with accomodating for gluten free & vegetarian!
What a great way to spend the day in Amsterdam! My husband & I booked a private food tour and had an amazing time! Our tour guide, Rudolph, was great! We really enjoyed learning about the history and lifestyle. The best part was tasting all of the local food & drinks!! We are looking forward to try a food and canal tour on our next visit! Thank you, Rudolph for an awesome day!
We love food tours as it gives you the lay of the land and clues you to various places in the city where you might want to return. There were four of us and we opted for the private tour with David. He was fantastic. Young, energetic, and knowledgeable- his love for his city and his country was readily apparent. We enjoyed all our food stops- plenty of food if you eat it all. The one thing we did not have was the stroopwafel. I think we substituted the herring stop for that one. Herring, a definite Amsterdam favorite based on the long line of locals, was not our favorite, but it certainly was a memory for sure!
We loved our food tour, it was a small group and the perfect amount of walking (and eating!). The guide was knowledgeable and friendly and the variety of cuisine we tried truly helped introduce us to Amsterdam. Also appreciated the flexibility with dietary restrictions – I got to eat almost everything, even with a gluten allergy.
We booked a food tour of Amsterdam during our Honeymoon and had the BEST experience. It was a wonderful way to meet other travelers and tour the city, seeing what and where the locals eat. Our guide, Catharina Havenkamp truly made the experience amazing! She answered all of our questions and we felt like we truly knew what it was like being Dutch for those few hours. I absolutely recommend!
There were only two of us on the tour so it was a nice private tour. Our guide Jan was fantastic, so friendly and nice. It was like being shown around by a friendly uncle. The food experiences were varied and offered a fun example of Dutch cuisine. The apple pie was exceptional and so was the cheese and wine. Thank you for this lovely experience!!
David Kempers was an excellent local guide. Highly suggest him for Amsterdam food tours.
Fantastic tour of local spots. Rudolph was clever and informative! Just the right amount of conversation and exploration of this lovely city. We highly recommend 🎉
We had a 5+ hour food tour with Jan. He was extremely knowledgeable regarding the history of Amsterdam and its neighborhoods. We had a small group of 5 and enjoyed our time with the other participants. Jan explained all the food we were tasting but also went out of his way to show us hidden spots in the neighborhood. I would strongly recommend this tour and hope you get to experience Jan’s knowledge and friendliness.
David was a terrific tour guide, full of interesting information about Amsterdam, and took us in delicious stops in the Jordaan, highly recommend!
